The Indian Tea PotPourri

It is hard when someone says not to have tea, if you're a tea lover. Millions of people all over the world, as a ritual, kick start their day with a cup of tea.

The story of tea began long ago in China. Legend has it that over 4000 years ago, a Chinese emperor was sitting under a tree, while his servant boiled drinking water when some leaves fell from the tree into the water and created a golden brew & the emperor tasted this incidentally created infusion which we now call tea. Tea drinking became a custom in China for centuries, before it reached other parts of the world. During British rule, Tea was introduced in India & since then India became a tea heaven and is known for its distinct famed tea culture. From Assam (eastern India) the birth place of Indian tea, to the high elevation estates of Darjeeling in the foot hills of Himalayas, right down to tropical tea gardens of the Nilgiris in the south, all offer a refreshing tea experience in their own flavor.

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
