Mothers day table with Lotus flowers:)))

Set an table in memory of my mother for mothers day as everyone did for their mother. Was feeling low & lonely as thoughts of her were crossing my mind. Few times my eyes welled remembering her saying. As children we would never give importance to their saying but as we grow old and able to realise now what she meant we understand and it brings tears. There are many small happy funny moments with my mother and remembering those moments brings in lot of happiness. The only feeling she is not here with me today and not able to serve her.

Read a line about mother daughter relationship....it says the relationship is one of the most pristine relationships...how true it is.

A Mother is a mother always and her life is woven around the children.

Set an Blue table for the day spreading a beautiful Blue rug of my recent buy. The designs on the rug looks so pretty and never had a second thought to use it. It's a light weight rug  and it matched with my blue  crockeries as well. The flowers are lotus flowers of pink and white. Lotus flowers are beautiful at this time of the year to use in decors. The flower also signifies the universal sign of love/purity together.

A question.....Do you use a pretty rug as a table spread??

In olden times carpets/rugs were so precious a status symbol that collectors used them as table covers rather on the floor and artfully draped them across the table's  surface.

For special occasions one can consider having a rug/carpet as a spread which will give your table visual heft,  dramatic presence and a certain sophisticated swagger when staging your dinner party.

  1. Just beautiful!!! I've never seen lotus flowers before, or it we had then growing up in Hawaii, I just don't remember them. Lovely! I miss my mother, too... It's hard when we can't share with them anymore. My mother-in-law is still living and we went down to a local Costco for groceries yesterday. We hang out quite a bit since she moved to Texas a year ago. California just was too expensive anymore. :(

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for sharing at Share Your Style! I was able to feature your post last week at SYS #390 for you. <3 Enjoy your beautiful home and gardens!

    Hugs,
    Barb :)

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
