As we know candles are beautiful decorative objects and source of wonder & delight in many ways. Making candles in different size/shapes and in different colours...it's a creativity with joy and each one is work of art. I got inspired to make wax melts this week-end, made fruit shaped wax melts with used candles. I used lemongrass oil to the wax liquid for the fragrance. It's so easy to make with bit of care. All that we need used candles or wax, fragrance oils/essential oils, tray moulds & sheet of waste paper. Wax moulds are becoming popular these days as gifts .
Melt the candles in the double boiler add the fragrance oil to the melted wax and pour the wax liquid to the tray moulds. Before pouring the wax liquid to the tray place the trays on the waste paper sheet from surface becoming dirty. Allow the wax to cool. Later gently remove the wax melts from the moulds from sides with a knife without breaking.
As festivities are nearing home made wax melts can be packed in small boxes or in bottles tied with ribbons and gifted away.
How to use wax melts? Place one or two wax melts on the wax burner and keep a tea light under for the melts to melt.
