Summer setting with Hydrangeas:)

Summer is here, a time to entertain guests or to have 'me time'relaxing all by yourself. Sometime we settle for the safe option by having a simple decor around. If it is so you can think to find something you love and then run with it like making small changes instantly to refresh your porch , veranda, balcony, cosy corner  or near the bay window to create a decorative space with floor cushions, light throws which will bring a sense of joy for you/friends to relax.

It's hot summer for us and did a small set up in our balcony with floor  cushions and with a floral printed cloth. Potted Hydrangeas added beauty to the setting. Ice creams and fruit punches are compliments of the season and adding them just enjoyable.

It's mango season here in our region and they make every part of our dish from curries, chutneys to desserts till the season gets over. Sharing a simple easy to make mango ice cream recipe here to beat the heat.

Recipe.....

2 ripe mangoes, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup condensed milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Peel and chop the mangoes into small pieces. Blend them into a smooth puree. If you prefer a chunky texture blend only half and chop the rest into small chunks. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. (This step is crucial for a creamy texture) Gently fold the mango puree, condensed milk and vanilla extract into the whipped cream. Ensure the mixture well combined. Now pour the mixture to a air tight container. Freeze for six hours or over night. Scoop and garnish with mango slices in a bowl or to a cone.

200th post at Crystal Grandeur!

This is my 200th post at Crystal Grandeur!  As a profound blogger it is a moment of joy for me as well.   It has been a wonderful journey all along.  Crystal Grandeur blossomed in November 2011 with Diwali & Christmas decors and it is my small world where my imagination and creations comes to reality.  I admire some of the blogs crossing 400+ posts. I appreciate and thank them for influencing others to do the same.  Speaking of my love for decors and styling I enjoy exploring different aesthetics and incorporate them in my decors and tablescapes. It helps me to keep moving forward  with new and fresh ideas  and doesn't let me be stagnant to one particular style.    For a nostalgia kick i share with you all... my delightful moments at Crystal Grandeur. Receiving appreciation for your creation in the form of comments always touches ones heart. (Sharing some of my past posts sweet comments posted by dear readers from across...

Festive Give Away:)))

Season Fall is to arrive soon and the season has its own charm in providing us with plenty of seasonal specials. Oranges are best during Fall and they last from beginning of Fall to end of Winter. In our garden plenty of Calamondin oranges started to appear and the fresh smell of the citrus in the air so soothing.  Plucked few of them and made marmalade from the ripen oranges for the morning toast. Also a good idea to make marmalade when the oranges are plenty, fill them in cute little bottles, tie with a ribbon/card and gift it when there is a Fall party or for Thanks giving & festive occasions. Its easy and quick to make and my way of preparing the recipe is given right here.  Cut the calamondin orange to half, remove the pulp and the skin separately. While removing the pulp take away the seeds. Squeeze out the juice from the pulp using a thin cloth . Cut the skin to thin stripes.  Put a heavy bottom pan on the stove and keep on low flame. (For one glass of ju...
