A Scape With The Lotus....:):)

In most cold countries, at the time when it looks like winter will never come to an end, the sight of cheerful delicate flowers like Daffodils, reminds us of the resurgence of natural life that is beginning just outside the window.

The freshness of Spring is perhaps best expressed with the colours of soft Yellows, Greens, Blues and White. Keeping that in mind while making a table for two, I used a touch of Copper-sulphate  Blue, White and basketful of Eggs for the season most delightful.

The flowers I arranged in the vase here are the beautiful white Lotus. The Lotus is a sacred flower in some Eastern countries and is the national flower of India. It is a beautiful sight to see several of them float in a Lotus pond & is a special delight to find beautiful Lotus and Lily ponds in the interior villages of Southern India.

The Lotus flower is the symbol of Purity, Faith and Hope because although it grows from within the muck of water, it  blooms into a gorgeous flower and it sustains to adverse weather conditions. The flower has captured the hearts of numerous poets. Though I am not a poet who could write about this flower, I was happy to do a scape with the beautiful Lotus flower, a flower which is of hope or rebirth...

                                                              HAPPY EASTER

  1. Your Lotus theme is so lovely and I think all of your blue crystal is so elegant. Your rabbits, including the blue and white candle ones, speak of spring. I cannot wait, until the rabbits that usually live near our back yard start making their appearance this year. Thank you for the beautiful post!

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. A Wedding to Remember.:)))

When two souls, which have sought each other for however long in the throng, have finally found each other, when they have seen that they are matched, in a word they are alike, compatible and established a union for ever between them. A union illuminated & pure for ever and ever.. This union is love, true love filled with full of sweetest delights & compassion. My second son Capt Siddharth and sweet Saumya tied the knot on 16th Feb. The wedding was a grand event with both the families coming together to bless the wonderful couple. Sharing few photos of the wedding in the blog- post today with rest of you all.:)))   Please visit Nap on the porch

Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
