It was interesting to do a table setting for "Kathleen's copy a table challenge" for 11th December.
I selected a picture from the "Architectural Digest" magazine and the table scape photo was from the home of none other than the master designer himself "Ralph Lauren". I liked it instantly for the table had a Tartan fabric touch. Seeing it i felt it would be apt to copy the table for the challenge and the season as well.As all of you know the fabric is a natural choice at this time of the year.
I spread the tartan tablecloth and used my red plates like the white plates used on 'RLs' table.Instead of a transparent hurricane lamp I have placed a red hurricane lamp in the center .I have also used three stem glasses to match the picture setting. The side board in the picture has a red hunting coat, candle holders and a lamp.Instead i have placed a old Ficus Bonsai tree decorated with red bows and a candle holder filled with potpourris for my side board.I hope you all like it.
Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful season....:):)

A winter wonderland is on your table. Love your crystal and the sweet golden deer. This was a fun but hard task and you did great.

I am fascinated by your bonsai tree with its red bows--such a great idea! Your table is beautifully finished with the tartan and the red centerpiece. I hope you enjoy a wonderful meal here! Linda

ReplyDeleteLOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY. I especially love your photos in candlelight! You've met the challenge well. Bravo!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! That plaid is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAll your reds and golds, together with the plaid, make for a rich, elegant table that definitely echoes the Ralph Lauren table -- nicely done!
ReplyDeleteWell Done. Very christmasy. Matches the festive season mood!
ReplyDeleteVery nice job! The tartan plaid really brings it home. RL really knows how to make things look rich, elegant, romantic and inviting! You managed to do it all too! Your bonsai tree looks cute with the red bows!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table! I love anything Ralph Lauren and I am using the same Royal Stewart tartan on my real Christmas table this year. I like your red hurricane better than the plain one in the photos. I loved this challenge, but I was on vacation and never finished my post. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteExquisite in every detail! Your inspiration photo and your own rendition of this table are equally beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and festive table. Wonderful copy! I love the red tartans. This turned out to be so elegant and gorgeous!...Christine

ReplyDeleteYou did a great job of duplicating Ralph's table with your own beautiful items. I LOVE those gold rimmed stems...GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job, the red just hops off the page. I love the touch of plaid too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the challenge with your lovely entry! Enjoy the season and thanks for linking to Let's Dish!
Ahhhhh....tartan!!! One of my very favorite design elements of the Christmas season! Ralph Lauren's world seems immersed in tartan, and that is a beautiful thing!!! I love it that you chose the work of RL to emulate for Kathleen's party!!! Such a pretty Christmas table!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the RL table but I love yours more. Using tartan plaid in a tablescape automatically says Christmas to me. The golden deer and the red hurricanes launches your table far beyond the RL inspiration. Beautiful job of copycat inspiration.
