A Sparkling Tablescape for Diwali

It is a known fact that the celebration of Diwali is truly a time for fun, delicious food and get togethers. Sparkling table scapes go along well with the nature of festivity. The festivity inspired me to do a tablescape for my blog. The dinner set used here is gift from my warm and fun loving friend Laila. It is a beautiful La Opala set of Indian make with lovely floral prints & subtle colours.

It is proven fact that colours have mood altering effects & I used the red sheet as a base to highlight the beauty of the plates, swan, and the candle stand. The beautiful smoky petal sherbet glasses with a pinkish tinge is an old buy. The white and red combination go hand in hand for a festive celebration and I enjoyed doing this scape.

Thank You for your visit :):)

  1. Hello! What a pretty Diwali setting!!! I was not familiar with the celebration until last year when I read about it on Sanghamitra's blog. I Googled it to read up on it a little more and found it to be so interesting! (It even inspired me to try my own hand at a table that celebrated Diwali that I posted a couple of months ago!) You have created such a pretty table in celebration of Diwali, and I really love all the little details you have included. Those shimmery candle lamps are absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the way the candlelight all around illuminates the swan! Very pretty, Sujatha!

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
