A Scape before Valentine's

The season of Love is all around. It's in everyone's heart's & minds, and all must have thoughts of how best to prepare and celebrate for Valentine's Day

As the colours Red, Pink and Purple take the front seat as the month arrives with a bang, a thought of presenting a scape with Blue and White came to my mind.. It resulted in using my blue lamps, tiny blue vases and naturally dried long leaves, with my blue ware dishes which I received as a gift from my nephew when I visited USA in the late 90's. I enjoy using these dishes once in while for their beautiful printed flowers.

Hope you like it

  1. Good morning, Sujatha!!! Well, it's morning here in Lee's Summit, MO, U.S.A.! I got a good night's sleep, and I'm ready to tackle the day! I hope you are, too!!! I am just fascinated by your centerpiece on this table!!! Those leaves!!!!!!! They look like beautiful leaf skeletons! I have seen much smaller leaves dried that way, but never any so tall and graceful as yours!!! They are a wonderful accent to your blue & white table! I like the blue & white lanterns, too. I think it's neat that your nephew gifted you with those dainty dishes when you visited the U.S.! I hope you had a good time when you visited here. In the 15+ years since you were here, a lot has changed but much is still the same. I live smack dab in the middle of the nation, and not much ever changes here! :-) I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Take care!!!

  4. Afternoon Sujatha! I'm just back from the Flower Shop and it is snowing like crazy! I am fascinated by your large dried leaves. many years ago I lived in Hawaii, and I had some success drying them like that but not in Ohio!Your table is beautiful, blues are my favorite on a table. I also noticed how your silverware is placed upside down. I like that very much! Mind if I try that? Huggs, Dianna

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. A Wedding to Remember.:)))

When two souls, which have sought each other for however long in the throng, have finally found each other, when they have seen that they are matched, in a word they are alike, compatible and established a union for ever between them. A union illuminated & pure for ever and ever.. This union is love, true love filled with full of sweetest delights & compassion. My second son Capt Siddharth and sweet Saumya tied the knot on 16th Feb. The wedding was a grand event with both the families coming together to bless the wonderful couple. Sharing few photos of the wedding in the blog- post today with rest of you all.:)))   Please visit Nap on the porch

Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
