Celebration by the Sea Side.....:):)

Hi there..Everyone.....I share here photos of our 25th Wedding Anniversary, which we celebrated a few years ago at a beach resort. The day also sees our elder son Prashanth's birthday. Our idea was to celebrate it at our home town Chennai/Madras with family and close friends. We narrowed the venue down to a beach resort outside the city on the East Coast Road (ECR) along the Bay of Bengal. The East Coast Road is charming due to its soulful ambiance, leisurely atmosphere along  with availability of terrific food giving a different world at the waters edge for a wonderful romantic rendezvous. It was indeed a memorable day, celebrating by the sea as everyone enjoyed and wished us.

Since it was our Silver Jubilee Anniversary, we chose a colour theme of silver and white. We placed a order for a three layered white cake which had touches of silver and a bouquet of white roses with some greens to adorn the table. The give away gifts for the guests were tiny little white doves wrapped in a silver paper and put in a small silver paper bags. A bottle of champagne was opened to mark this day of double celebration. It was indeed an evening to remember and it goes down the memory lane.

The calm sea in the photo gives an impression that the water is quiet & harmless. But, in fact just forty days earlier to the anniversary, the resort was badly hit by the devastating Tsunami which also hit countries like Thailand,Indonesia, Sri lanka, India and some parts of Africa. This beach resort was badly hit by the Tsunami but luckily no one lost their life. Before the third huge wave which was as tall as three stories high could arrive, everyone escaped from the resort. The sand looks blackish in the photo as a result of the Tsunami.

  2. I was going to congratulate you on the amazing party, wonderful setting, magnificence place... but I can't get over how lovely and beautiful you look in YOUR picture.
I bet when Mr. Pratap saw you he thought "Boy, I'd marry this girl again and again and again, for a thousand years". WOW Sujatha You look so gorgeous.
I love the detail of the sand ("ruined" by the Tsunami) like a wink saying "Nothing can ruin the Beauty of Your Souls and Celebrations because the Light will keep shining, within you and from you".
So glad you shared your celebration. You have a very Beautiful Family! Elegant, too.
    Yours,
    Teresa

What a beautiful celebration! Twenty-five years is a big deal, and I'm glad you got to celebrate in such a fine fashion.

It's amazing how the beach had been in a tsunami just a month+ prior to these photos being taken! I'm so glad no one was killed in the melee! Those tsunamis are nothing to play with! :-(

Thank you for sharing these lovely photos with us! I wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness!

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. SCENTED POTPOURRI AND NATURALLY DRIED LEAVES ADD TO THE OCCASION.    GO AHEAD AND CREATE AN INVITING DECOR FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO ADD TO THE FESTIVE SPIRIT   A WINDOW LEDGE TRANSFORMED WITH THE ONSET OF THE FESTIVE FERVOUR.THIS IS A WINDOW DRESSING FOR DIWALI   CREATE AND TRANSFORM THE SPACE AND LEAVE AN EPHEMERAL IMPRINT THE RUSTIC AND ETHNIC LOOK OF THE LAMPS. A Wedding to Remember.:)))

When two souls, which have sought each other for however long in the throng, have finally found each other, when they have seen that they are matched, in a word they are alike, compatible and established a union for ever between them. A union illuminated & pure for ever and ever.. This union is love, true love filled with full of sweetest delights & compassion. My second son Capt Siddharth and sweet Saumya tied the knot on 16th Feb. The wedding was a grand event with both the families coming together to bless the wonderful couple. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
