Diwali Table:)

Last couple of months had been months of festivities here. For me it was all about shopping, decorating, entertaining, gifting , preparing delicious menu and so on.

In the list of festivals it is festival of Diwali or festival of lights now. Diwali is  celebrated with lot of joy and fun with lighting of lamps, cracking crackers, eating sweets and preparing delicious food.

Happy to share our Diwali table decor here. Chose a colour scheme of white and silver to give the table a soft and feminine touch.
Decided to use white wares as I felt that our food has such strong vibrant colours and white does the magic as a contrast.

A sliver basket with simple non scented floral  arrangement in the middle looked matching too.

  1. Hi, Sujatha! I wish I could visit India during the time of the festivals. I know it would be an incredible once in a lifetime experience with lots to learn and enjoy!

You've set a beautiful table for Diwali, and I like it that you went with soft colors to allow the food to stand out. Your silver basket is really pretty...very fitting for this setting. The design on those little bowls is GORGEOUS!!! The coloring looks inlaid. Very rich!

Nice touch to add the rose to the flatware. It adds a touch of color to the table without overwhelming it. Beautiful!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!!

  2. Perfect.
Happy Divali to you, Dear Sujatha.
The setting is perfect and I love how light plays in your home.
I had a similar problem with dishes and colorful food the other day. I wanted to use some white and blue dishes and it wouldn't just work with the food I was preparing. And white ware is always elegant.
    Thank you for sharing,
    Teresa

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M

A Wedding to Remember.:)))

When two souls, which have sought each other for however long in the throng, have finally found each other, when they have seen that they are matched, in a word they are alike, compatible and established a union for ever between them. A union illuminated & pure for ever and ever.. This union is love, true love filled with full of sweetest delights & compassion. My second son Capt Siddharth and sweet Saumya tied the knot on 16th Feb. The wedding was a grand event with both the families coming together to bless the wonderful couple. Sharing few photos of the wedding in the blog- post today with rest of you all.:)))   Please visit Nap on the porch
