Easter is here to celebrate:)

Bunnies and eggs are symbol of Easter and this table renders a Easter look with them along with a Bird's nest recipe. Bunny lays, decorates and hides eggs. The decorated Easter nest, eggs and cute bunnies celebrate the arrival & freshness of Spring that we associate with this time of year. Placing decorated candles and a white Canna bloom from the garden for the center added charm & festivity.
Here is a simple and easy to make Bird's nest recipe with boiled potatoes and green peas just seasonable for the celebration.

Few Curry Leaves
Fried Vermicelli: 1 Cup  for coating

Few boiled green peas for egg decoration

In a pan pour two tablespoons of oil and put cut ginger, garlic & green chili. Fry for few minutes. Then add cut onions, salt and saute till the onions become transparent. Add turmeric & chili powder to it and fry for few minutes till the raw smell goes. Add curry leaves and saute for one minute. Then add the shredded chicken pieces and combine well with the mixture.
In a bowl mash the boiled potatoes and add with it the cooked chicken mixture and bind it well with hand.
In a small bowl break the egg and stir it and keep aside. Make lemon size balls from the potato dough. In a plate spread roasted vermicelli. Shape the balls to nest pattern and dip in egg mixture. Roll and coat the ball all sides with roasted vermicelli. In a deep frying pan add oil and fry the balls both sides till it turn to golden brown. Arrange it in a plate and place the boiled green peas on it for the egg effect. Here your bird nest is ready. It is easy , quick and fun too for a celebration like Easter and for children table setting.

  1. HI, Sujatha! First of all, the table setting is beautiful!!! What a pretty combination of such wonderful elements that could go for Easter or just Spring in general! I really like those little felt (or sponge?) flowers on the eggs. Such a cute idea!!! I've never made the bird's nests before, but what fun!!!!!!! My granddaughter is almost 15 now, so she wouldn't be intrigued by anything like that. I think my neighbor's son would be enchanted, though!!! Happy Easter to you and your family!!!

Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
