The lightness Of Summer.... Perfect Iced Coffee:)

What could be better than a glass of cold coffee on a hot summer day when it calls for a kick of caffeine and the chill of ice? CG suggests you for a cold coffee with a scoop of ice cream on top for a hot humid day. Here is a simple recipe for you to make that perfect glass which you feel it is from the barista.

Method: Soak 250 grams of coffee grounds in five cups of cold water and leave in the refrigerator over night. Next day , strain through a fine sieve or muslin cloth into a glass jar. This will give around 12 servings of very strong and flavorsome concentrate that can be refrigerated for 10 to 15 days. Pour the desired concentrate to a tall narrow glass, add sweetened cold milk (with sugar or honey)and scoop of ice cream on top before serving.

For the best taste of cold coffee use freshly ground beans instead of instant mix.  Store the grounds in an airtight container and never place in a refrigerator as it attracts moisture.
Use bottle water instead of tap water while making the concentrate.
For the sweetener honey is best as it get dissolved quickly in the cold milk.
Here is a cold coffee scape with a dash of ice cream on top from my kitchen counter.

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
