Black & White :))

This week has been good so far, and I have been preparing for the Navratri celebrations which will be starting next week.

It was nice to do a  scape for the week using the colour of the season. This is the first time I am using black and white wares with two different center pieces.

In a beautiful black and white bowl I put the fresh white lotus blooms and also used a Moroccan lantern as the two different centre-pieces.

Which centre-piece do you prefer??? I would love to hear from you.

                                                               Thank you...:)

  5. Hi, Sujatha! Either you have a really abundant garden, or your floral budget is endless because you always have such pretty flowers!!! I love the way you arranged the lotus blossoms in that bowl with them slightly draping over the sides! I also like the way you folded the napkin to mimic the drape and shape of the lotus blossoms. Very nice!

As much as I like the floral arrangement as your centerpiece, I also really like the Moroccan lantern. It's beautiful! We have a store here in the U.S. called Z Gallerie that carries Moroccan lanterns in a variety of sizes and colors. I bought a couple of them in black a few years ago but have surprisingly never used them! I must rectify that, especially now that I see how pretty yours looks here! It casts off such pretty light onto the table.

I hope you have a beautiful week!

Diwali With Lights

The word Deepavali stems from the Sanskrit words, Deepa meaning ‘Light’ and Avali meaning ‘Row’. It means a row of lights and illumination is undoubtedly its main attraction. Deepavali, the festival of lights, even to this day, projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.    THE FLICKERING LIGHT OF A FLAME IS TRULY MAGICAL. A Wedding to Remember.:)))

When two souls, which have sought each other for however long in the throng, have finally found each other, when they have seen that they are matched, in a word they are alike, compatible and established a union for ever between them. A union illuminated & pure for ever and ever.. This union is love, true love filled with full of sweetest delights & compassion. My second son Capt Siddharth and sweet Saumya tied the knot on 16th Feb. The wedding was a grand event with both the families coming together to bless the wonderful couple. Shades of Green

This is September, and the month offers its own fresh start to many things. Here in India, it is the beginning of festivities and celebrations for the next few coming weeks. These are the days of showers too, and it is truly refreshing & soothing to see the plants and trees after every brief shower. The moist leaves give us an impression that they are happy and smiling and breathing a 'Thank You' for the fresh green look. I love the colour green and as we all know it is one of Mother Natures primary colours. The green stem is honoured and credited to hold every flower of different colours. That's awesome. Inspiration comes from every where and the colour green inspired me to do a scape, with the green touch. I collected the green ware from the racks and putting it together as a teascape was pleasing to the eyes like the happy greenery around us. Sometimes it is wonderful to have tea and treat ourselves amongst a small collection of green plants. M
